Dear Lions Club of Thames,
The Year Sixes from Parawai School wanted to see the model dam being tripped because they had studied the logging of kauri in the Kauaeranga forestry. The Kauaeranga Visitors Centre was visited by the Year Sixes from Parawai School in Thames , where the model dam is, however the model dam has been damaged.
I would like the Thames Lions Club to please fix the model dam because the model dam has been damaged and can no longer be tripped. The Year Fives, who will be Year Sixes next year, want to see it when it has been repaired when they go on camp next year.
Room 14 will help fix it with you, and 22 more strong muscles would be a lot faster for you.
I would like you to tell us when you’re starting to fix it so we can help.
I would love to see you soon. I would also love to see the model dam being tripped next year when I go on the Year Six Camp to the Kauaeranga Education Camp.
Yours sincerely

Dear Sir
I am writing to you because the year 6’s at Parawai just visited the Kauaeranga Visitors Centre to see the model dam
It wasn’t working, so we would like you, (the lions club), to get it working please. A group of us can help you, but the only thing is we don’t have enough money for timber.
We are sure it has been vandalized and we want everybody to see it working again. Friends, family, tourists and other random people would also appreciate visiting this dam that shows Thames history.
In our history these have been built so now we want to remember that moment and see it working again.
Yours Sincerely,
Lachlan Pudney

Dear Sir,
I am writing to you because the Year 6’s have just visited the Kauaeranga Visitors Center. We would like to ask the Lions Club of Thames to rebuild the model dam at the Kauaeranga Visitors Centre, so our school and families can see it.
It would be an attraction for families and tourists that visit our community. It would be an attraction because kauri is native to New Zealand. Lots of people will come to see it. We are prepared to help you rebuild it if you are going to try and fix it.
Yours sincerely
